Overture
Buffalo High School Performing Arts Center 877 Bison Blvd, Buffalo, MN, United StatesBuffalo Community Orchestra opens its 29th season with some of the most well known and loved overtures. An overture, by definition, means an introduction to something more substantial. In music, an overture is an orchestral piece at the beginning of an opera, suite, play, oratorio, or other extended composition. Immerse yourself in many famous and well recognized overtures, there will be something for everyone. Come and enjoy this free concert and see how many of the overtures you recognize!
Holiday for Orchestra with Ringers and Singers
Buffalo High School Performing Arts Center 877 Bison Blvd, Buffalo, MN, United StatesJoin us for a very special holiday concert as the Buffalo Community Orchestra kicks off the holiday season. Experience the magical sounds of the season with well-known holiday favorites and a very special work. Thanks to a generous grant from 100 Women Who Care, the Buffalo Community Orchestra commissioned Minnesota composer Steven Amundson to write a special piece that will premiere at this concert. The piece, written for orchestra, handbells and choir includes original text that focuses on hope and celebration!
BCO Spotlight
Buffalo High School Performing Arts Center 877 Bison Blvd, Buffalo, MN, United StatesCelebrate spring as BCO turns the spotlight to their very own. Join us for a unique program that highlights the many talented musicians of the Buffalo Community Orchestra, including music from Haydn, Brahms, Copland and more! BCO is especially excited to welcome BCO soloists Andy Burgdorf, Marcus Hanson, Zach Armstrong and Jennifer Domka to the stage.

Buffalo High School Performing Arts Center 877 Bison Blvd, Buffalo, MN, United StatesJoin us as with celebrate America with three iconic and moving pieces. BCO opens with Ungar's Ashokan Farewell. This piece served as the title theme song for Ken Burn's The Civil War and is a beautiful ballad featuring the BCO strings. Next up is Copland’s famous Lincoln Portrait, a narrated piece that provides a historical look at famous folksongs and several of Lincoln’s famous speeches, including the Gettysburg address. The concert closes with Boyer's Ellis Island: The Dream of America, a multi-media experience that follows the story of seven immigrants from seven different countries as they traveled to the United States, told through music, narration and historic images.
