Join us for an afternoon of music chosen by our members and our patrons! Songs from this program were chosen from a list of favorites and voted on by orchestra members and audience members!

The afternoon will include a special celebration marking our 30th Anniversary, with a special presentation reviewing the past 30 years with the BCO!

Fun Facts:

Adagio for strings has been used in many major motion pictures such as Platoon, The Elephant Man and Amélie as well as at funerals for Albert Einstein and Princess Grace.

The Academic Festival Overture has been one of Brahms’ most often played works ever since the composer himself conducted the premiere in on January 4, 1881

At the request of his grandmother, Leonard Bernstein was originally named Louis Bernstein. After the death of his grandmother when Bernstein was 16, he officially changed his name to Leonard.

Sibelius was an accomplished violinist, but when composition became his main interest, his playing took a backseat and he never became the violinist he yearned to be. Sibelius auditioned for the Vienna Philharmonic but was not successful in his attempt.
